San Anton School - refundable contribution

As parents whose children attend San Anton School know, they have to pay a deposit of Lm600 that is refundable, in accordance with specific conditions, when the last child in the respective family leaves the school. We have a case, sent in by Dawn Vella, regarding the refundable contribution parents must make. In this case Mrs Vella's son left the school for reasons which, out of prudence, I will not divulge.

What makes this case more complicated is simply that San Anton School has refused to communicate with me. Obviously this does not help at all.

Suffice it to say that, in this case, the first letter I received from Mrs Vella was sent in December 2004. On January 5, I copied this letter to San Anton and asked for their comments to no avail. In the meantime I received another letter from Mrs Vella dated January 6. On February 9, I copied Mrs Vella's second letter to San Anton School and asked for their comments, again to no avail.

On March 30, I sent San Anton School another copy of Mrs Vella's January 6 letter for their comments, still to no avail. Subsequently, I sent San Anton more copies of this letter on May 11, July 5, and August 17 - all to no avail.

I daresay San Anton School have been given more than a fair opportunity to give us their side of the case, so I hereby ask them to do so.

We look forward to hearing from San Anton School and hopefully resolve this matter without having to make further public reference to this case.
