Stagecoach, an international theatre arts school, is preparing to embark on its eighth year in Malta, training children aged four to 16 in the disciplines of song, theatre and dance.
Senior principal Edward Mercieca said the children team up with likeminded friends and are made to realise they can do what they never believed possible.
"This makes them confident, poised and self-assured and because they believe more strongly in themselves, they perform better in life, resulting in better integration in and out of school, better academic performance and better preparation for adulthood," Every two years Stagecoach students sit for their examinations in group musical theatre with the Trinity College of London.
Stagecoach runs for three hours a week for the six to 16 year olds and 1.5 hours a week for the four to six year olds. It operates from centres in Mosta, Birsebbuga, Birkirkara, St Andrews, Mgarr and Victoria.
