Obituary

BULLOCK. On September 7, at St Luke's Hospital, CARMEN, after an illness so bravely borne, passed peacefully away comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her irreparable loss her beloved husband Richard, her children Caroline and James and his wife Michelle, her grandchildren Lee, Kurt and Rebecca, her brothers and sisters, in-laws, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves St Luke's Hospital tomorrow at 8.15 a.m. for St Cajetan parish church, Hamrun, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 9 a.m. followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to the Malta Hospice Movement will be greatly appreciated. Lord grant her eternal rest.

MAMO. On September 6, Sr EMILIE, went to meet the Risen Lord, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her sad loss the Sisters of St Joseph of the Apparition, her nephews and nieces, grand nephews and nieces and great-grand nephews and nieces, the staff of St Joseph School, Blata l-Bajda, besides other relatives and friends. - R.I.P. The funeral leaves St Luke's Hospital today at 8.45 a.m. for St Joseph Convent chapel, Blata l-Bajda, where Mass praesente cadavere will be celebrated at 9 a.m. No flowers by request but donations to Fatima Hostel, Sliema, or Dar Sagra Familja, Zabbar, will be greatly appreciated.

ZAMMIT. On September 6, at St Luke's Hospital, Maria née Gatt, 84, of San Gwann passed peacefully away comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her great loss her beloved husband Spiro, her children Carmen and Michael Sammut, residing in Australia, Joseph and Olympia, Rita and James Knowles, Pauline and Anthony Mifsud Bonnici Giordani, Antoniette and Gaetano Borg Bonaci, Eugenia and Joseph Pace and Marion and John Borg, her adorable grandchildren and great-grandchildren, her brothers and sisters, family and friends. The funeral leaves St Luke's Hospital today for San Gwann parish church, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 9 a.m., followed by burial at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery (upper gate). Donations to the Capuchins Missionaries will be appreciated. Lord grant her eternal rest.

Tomorrow being the first anniversary of the demise of LOUIS NAUDI, a Mass for the repose of his soul will be said at 7.30 p.m. at Lapsi chapel, St Julians. Family and friends are invited to attend.

Musical Evening

A musical evening to mark the 100th anniversary since the setting up of the Conventual Franciscan Provincial in Malta will be held at the Centru Animazzjoni u Komunikazzjoni, Triq S. Sommier, Birkirkara on September 16 at 7.30 p.m.

The choir of the Cappella Musicale della Basilica di San Francesco, Assisi under the direction of P. Giuseppe Magrino OFM Conv, will take part.

Training trainers

Christine Johnston, the pioneer of the Let Me Learn process, will be the speaker at the next activity of TtnetMalta.

TtnetMalta is a member of the European Training of Trainers Network established in 1998 by CEDEFOP, the European Centre for the Development of Vocational Training. The aim of the Training the Trainers' Network (Ttnet) is to promote the development of vocational teachers' and trainers' skills.

Prof. Johnston's talk will be held at the Creativity Centre, St James Cavalier, Valletta, on Tuesday at 7 p.m. Non-member VET teachers, trainers and human resource managers who are interested may attend. Entrance is free.

MLP fund raising

The Malta Labour Party will be holding a fund-raising event on Independence Day, September 21.

Donations will be collected at the National Labour Centre, Hamrun from noon to 11 p.m. or can be pledged via SMS or telephone, the party said.
