Malta International Airport plc has appointed two new managers. Mona Farrugia has been appointed passenger service manager while Patrick Murgo is MIA's new chief fire officer.

Ms Farrugia will be responsible for customer relations in general, particularly information services, queue management and the La Valette operations.

Mr Murgo coordinated all matters related to civil protection vis-à-vis Malta's accession to the EU and has undergone various training programmes abroad, most notably with the national US and Japanese coast guard agencies.

Mr Murgo will be leading the team of fire-fighters primarily in eventualities of aircraft accidents and incidents as well as the control of fires and in the maintenance of operational readiness of the relevant resources.
