Twenty eight workers employed with Air Supplies will get to keep their jobs after successful negotiations were held between the company's shareholders and the General Workers' Union.

The union had previously warned of potential lay-offs.

In a statement it said these workers will now be transferred to the new company, Airport Services Co., a subsidiary of Air Malta, with their jobs guaranteed.

The workers will also continue to benefit from the conditions established in the existing collective agreement, as well as seniority benefits.

The agreement will be signed in the coming days.
