Shelter, at last!
After so many years, the karozzin horses in Valletta got a temporary shelter, and will soon have a permanent canopy which will hopefully cater for all the horses and not just the four horses the temporary shelter caters for. Better late than never.

Better late than never. Animal Rights Malta thanks all individuals and organisations who never gave up, attended public protests, and persistently wrote letters to the press to put pressure on the government to give the horses the much needed and deserved shelter.
Let us hope that the government now brings the whole issue to a conclusion by enacting the new regulations on working hours and conditions (including the provision of water facilities) for work horses, following the submission of draft regulations by the sub-committee on horses to the Animal Welfare Council over a year ago.
Animal protection organisations will not be satisfied until the horses get all the protection they deserve.
