The problem with stray dogs is that there are too many roaming about. People get fed up with their dogs when they grow and they don't like paying the SPCA to keep them. So they let them loose and the poor animals have to find some way to eat and drink.

If people want to buy a puppy just because it is cute, they are doing the wrong thing. You should only buy a puppy if you are willing to keep it and take good care of it. Small dogs are like small children, they need care and love and attention. Grown up dogs are not cute any more and people throw them out on the streets.

Another problem with dogs is the mess they leave on our streets; not just stray dogs, but even pets. When we go for a walk, the pavement is full of dogs' business and we have to watch our step. Dogs running about must be caught.

A dog jumped up at me and would have bitten me had it not been for my mother. This was not a stray as it had a collar around its neck. Now I am afraid to leave the house alone. I loved and played with dogs, but after this incident, I am scared of even the tiniest dog. When my mother called the police, they said they could not catch the dog unless it bit me and left a mark!
