Italy striker Fabrizio Miccoli has joined Benfica after the Portuguese champions agreed a one-year loan deal with Juventus, the club said yesterday.

The 26-year-old international, who scored 12 goals last season for Fiorentina, completes Benfica coach Ronald Koeman's transfer dealings after Greek midfielder Giorgos Karagounis signed a three-contract on Tuesday.

Benfica have made their worst start to a season since 1977, with one draw and one defeat and no goals in two games. The Lisbon side are 14th in the 18-team Portuguese standings.
