Obituary

CARUANA. On August 30, at St Luke's Hospital, JOHN of Vittoriosa, residing at Paola, aged 76, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Mary, his children Anna and her husband Joseph Dougall, Isabella and her husband Louis Micallef, his grandchildren Thomas, Christian, Rosalind and Victoria, his sister Cettina Cardona, other relatives and friends. - R.I.P.
The funeral leaves St Luke's Hospital today at 2.15 p.m. for Christ the King parish church, Paola, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 2.45 p.m., followed by interment in the family grave at the Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to St Joseph Institute, Sta Venera, will be appreciated. The family regret they are unable to receive visitors.

DOWLING. On August 30, EMMANUEL (Budgy), aged 83, passed peacefully away comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his devoted wife Jean, his children Dennis and his wife Louise, Bruce and his wife Sue, Daria and her husband Ross E. Manning, Brigitte and her husband Francois Perignon, Dirk and his wife Fiona, Kim, Kurt and his wife Vanessa, his beloved grandchildren Joanna, Robert, Zoe, Brooke, Lauren, Amy, Emma, Jade, Jaimie, Maya, Kai and Hannah, his sisters Gertie Busuttil residing in the US, Jane Bellizzi residing in Australia and Irene, wife of Sergio Manara, his sister-in-law Marita, wife of the late Ralph, his loving nephews and nieces, relatives and friends.
Funeral Mass will be said tomorrow at 2 p.m. at St Julians parish church followed by interment at the Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. Donations to the Malta Hospice Movement would be appreciated.
May he rest in peace.

POULSON. On August 29, at the hospice in Florida, KATHY, resided here in her early years and had a very special love for Malta, passed peacefully away following a long battle with cancer, aged 44. "O Lord, You are the source of eternal life, for those who believe in You. The sadness of death gives way to the bright promise of immortality. May our sister Kathy safely reach Your Kingdom of Light and Love, where every tear will be wiped away. Amen." She will be sadly missed and fondly remembered with love by her sisters, brothers and immediate family members. With peace at last, Amen.

Being the trigesima die from the death of JOSEPH PETRONI, a Mass for the repose of his soul is being said today at 6.30 p.m. at San Gwann parish church.

On the trigesima die of the passing away of SAVIOUR (Limps) PORTELLI, a Mass for the repose of his soul will be said tomorrow at 7 p.m. at Siggiewi parish church. The attendance of relatives and friends will be appreciated.

Power Cut

The electricity supply will be suspended in Birsebbuga today, from 8.30 a.m. to 4.30 p.m. in Alfons Maria Galea, Cachia Zammit, L-Ghansar and FC Burlemach Streets and in parts of Birsebbuga, San Pietru, Santa Marija, San Gorg, It-Tankijiet , Zaren Dalli, Sqaq In-Nadur, Il-Qalb Imqaddsa and FM Ferretti Streets.

Phone Lines

Due to planned network maintenance aimed at improving the telephone service, Maltacom customers may have their service temporarily interrupted between 1.30 a.m. and 3.30 a.m. from today to Friday.

Mosta Works

Road works by Enemalta are being carried out in Pjazza N Isourd, Mosta until Sunday.

General traffic proceeding down from Constitution Street will be diverted to Parish Street. Vehicles proceeding from Triq il-Kbira will be unaffected.

Traffic Diversions

Road works will be carried out along Triq il-Kbira junction with Tal-Qlejja roundabout, Mosta, between tomorrow and Saturday There will be no access to Triq il-Kbira from Tal-Qlejja roundabout junction and no access to Tal-Qlejja roundabout junction from Triq il-Kbira.

Traffic coming from Naxxar will be diverted through Triq il-Kbira and Triq il-Kostituzzjoni. That coming from Mgarr and Rabat will be diverted through Targa Gap and Triq il-Kostituzzjoni. Public transport will not be affected.

Poetry Meeting

The Ilhna Poezija group and the Zejtun local council will hold a poetry meeting at St Gregory Garden, Zejtun, on September 7 at 7 p.m. Alfred Massa will be the guest speaker.
