¤ Ghajnsielem today celebrates the feast of Our Lady of Loreto and the parish's 150th anniversary.

Bishop Nikol Cauchi leads a pontifical concelebrated Mass at 9 a.m. A relic from Loreto, Italy, will later be presented to archpriest Canon Joseph Zerafa. The Mass will be broadcast on Radju Marija (102.3 FM) and on www.radjumarija.org.

Traditional horse and donkey races will be held in Mgarr Road at 1.30 p.m.

The Victory Band plays marches from Hamri Street to Sanctuary Square at 5.30 p.m.; and the St Joseph Band plays marches from Apparition Square to Sanctuary Square at 6.30.

The procession with the statue of Our Lady of Loreto, led by Nadur archpriest Mgr Salvatore Muscat and accompanied by the collegiate chapter, starts at 7.30.

At the Leone Band plays marches from Triq il-Moghdija to Sanctuary Square, where it will give a concert.

The procession will end with a Eucharistic celebration at 10 p.m.

Festivities will end with marches by the St Joseph Band from Apparition Square to Sanctuary Square at 11 p.m.

¤ Bambina Fest 2005, an evening of children's talent, will be held on Windmill Square, Xaghra, today at 7 p.m.

¤ The Gozo Youth Wind Band and Orchestra is holding a series of concerts on beaches frequented by tourists, in collaboration with local councils. The first concert will be held at Xlendi Bay tomorrow at 8.15 p.m., in collaboration with Munxar council.

¤ Evangelisation Day will be marked at Our Lady of Victories church in Xaghra on Tuesday at 7 p.m. Fr Anton Grech will celebrate Mass, during which donations for his mission in Guatemala will be collected. The Schola Cantorum Jubilate will participate.

¤ The feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel is being celebrated in Xlendi this week.

A Marian song festival will be held at Our Lady of Mount Carmel church on Tuesday at 8.30 p.m.

A variety show staged by children who attended the Don Bosco Oratory summer school will be held on Amphorae Square on Wednesday at 9.30 p.m.

The Astra Folk Group dancers stage a variety show on the square on Thursday at 9 p.m., and an evening of song and dance organised by Munxar council will be held there on Friday at 9 p.m.

The Precursor Band will play marches at Xlendi Bay on Saturday at 9.30 p.m.

¤ The 32nd anniversary of the coronation of the titular statue of Our Lady of Victories at Xaghra Basilica will be marked on Friday.

The Victory Band plays marches in the village streets at 9.30 p.m.; the band will give a concert on Victory Square on Saturday at 9 p.m.

¤ The Gozo School of Music, Sannat, is organising several courses for the 2005/2006 scholastic year, including a basic course in music (Orff method for six- to eight-year-olds) and courses in instruments like piano, violin, modern guitar, cello, clarinet and others for children aged eight.

Courses include theory, aural training and general musicianship. Applications are available at the school.
