Rocky Horror Show to be staged in Malta

Masquerade Theatre Company has obtained the rights to produce the cult musical The Rocky Horror Show at local theatres.

With preparation in mind for this production, Masquerade will be holding a special workshop prior to the actual show. This will be followed by auditions for one of the world's best-known musicals. 

Andy Reiss, the musical director, will conduct the workshop. He will be assisted by choreographer Alison White. Mr Reiss has been resident director of the famous West End show Les Miserables and now runs the UK's top touring show Beyond the Barricade. Ms White is one of Malta's most experienced practising choreographers.

The workshop is open to persons aged 16 years and over, as the musical contains adult themes and situations. During the workshop, participants will work on the top musical numbers of the show. It is advisable that those attending the workshop will familiarise themselves with the lyrics first.

The workshop will be held between September 25 and 28 at the MITP Theatre in St Christopher Street, Valletta. Auditions, open to all performers, will be held on September 29.
