Chris Camilleri will be representing Malta this weekend when the 34th ICF Flatwater Racing World Championships will be held in Zagreb, Croatia.

Competition starts today and the final races are scheduled for Sunday. Camilleri will take part in the 200m, 500m and 1,000m heats.

The championships are the annual showcase for global canoeing with Olympic and world champions seeking to shine in this prime international competition.

With the availability of a professional sprint kayak, acquired earlier this summer, Camilleri was able to lead an ideal build-up to the championships and trained according to a specific programme.

Camilleri's participation in Zagreb was made possible thanks to the assistance of the International Canoe Federation.
