South Africa secured their first away win in the Tri-Nations since 1998 with a 22-19 (half-time 14-6) victory over Australia yesterday in Perth.

Wing Bryan Habana scored two breakaway tries in either half to condemn the Wallabies to their fourth straight loss - their worst sequence of defeats since 1982.

Australia enjoyed the bulk of the possession and territory but could not break down a resolute Springbok defence, which again proved the difference in the match.

South Africa top the Tri-Nations standings with 12 points from three games.

Australia prop up the table with two points.

Next Saturday: New Zealand vs South Africa - Dunedin.
