¤ The feast of the Assumption of Our Lady is being celebrated in Zebbug today.

At 9 a.m. Bishop Nikol Cauchi will concelebrate Pontifical Mass with the parish clergy.

At 11.30 marches will be played by the St Gregory Band in the main streets of the village.

At 6.15 marches will be played by the Leone Band, starting from Church Street and ending up on Assumption Square.

At 6.30, Mgr Charles Scicluna will lead solemn vespers.

At 7.15 a procession with the statue of Our Lady leaves the church. The procession ends at 10, and Mgr Scicluna will give the Eucharistic blessing.

¤ Activities to mark the 150th anniversary of Ghajnsielem parish and to celebrate the feast of Our Lady of Loreto will be held this week.

Today at 10 a.m. Fr Emanuel Magro will say Mass at the parish church, with the participation of the Lauretana choir, for migrants currently holidaying in Gozo. This will be followed by a reception at the parish centre.

Tomorrow at 6.30 p.m. Fr Peter Paul Sammut will say Mass for youths with the participation of the Bethel group.

At 9 the St Joseph Band will play marches from Garden Street to the parish church. The statue of Our Lady of Loreto will be taken out of the old parish church and placed in the new church.

On Tuesday at 9.15 p.m. the St Joseph Band will perform on the church parvis.

On Thursday at 9.30 p.m. marches will be played by the St Joseph and Ite ad Joseph bands from Simirat Street to the band club.

On Friday at 9 p.m. the St Margaret Band will perform on the church parvis.

At 9.30 a procession with a new statue of Our Lady, Madonna fuq id-Dar, by Michael Camilleri Cauchi, will be held. The St Joseph and Precursor bands will play marches.

At midnight, the statue of Our Lady will be put on a pedestal in the square and there will be a ground fireworks display.

On Saturday at 9 a.m. the vicar general, Mgr Giovanni B. Gauci, will lead a concelebrated Mass and intone the Te Deum.

At 6.30 p.m. Mgr Lawrence Xerri will lead the pontifical translation of the relic, followed by singing of solemn vespers and Mass.

At 9 marches will be played by the St Joseph and La Stella bands, followed by fireworks displays at midnight.

¤ The third Nadur Wine Festival, organised by Emanwel Delicata Winemaker, in collaboration with Nadur council, is being held at the Council Gardens today from 7.30 p.m. to midnight.

Entrance is free, however visitors wishing to sample the range of wines on show will need to buy an official festival wine glass, which they can keep as a souvenir.

¤ The Diocesan Commission for the Lay Apostolate is organising a Marian pilgrimage to the Immaculate Heart of Mary church, Burmarrad, on Tuesday. The pilgrimage leaves Gozo on the 5.15 p.m. ferry.

Transport will be provided from Cirkewwa to Burmarrad, where Bishop Cauchi will lead a concelebrated Mass. Tickets may be obtained from the all parishes.
