Total unemployment at the end of July stood at 7,091, 161 more than the number registered during the previous month, the National Statistics Office said.

Of these, 5,500 or 77.6 per cent were men and 1,591 or 22.4 per cent were women.

There was a drop of 1,040 persons on the unemployment register, compared to the same month last year.
