The Euro Coin Genesis exhibition at St James Cavalier in Valletta will run until the end of this month.
Illustrating how the designs on the national and the European sides of the euro coins were chosen, the exhibition is organised jointly by the Directorate-General Economic and Financial Affairs of the European Commission and the Central Bank of Malta.
Apart from information on the coins of the 12 countries that have adopted the euro, the exhibition provides details on the euro coins issued by the Vatican, San Marino and Monaco. It also displays the designs that will feature on the euro coins to be issued by Estonia and Lithuania which are expected to join the euro area in two years' time.
Entry is free of charge and the exhibition is open between 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily.
