The general secretary of the General Workers' Union, Tony Zarb, yesterday filed a libel suit against The Sunday Times, arguing he felt libelled by a cartoon that accompanied Roamer's column last Sunday.

Mr Zarb said he was portrayed wearing a fascist style uniform. He argued that this was libellous and was only meant to damage his reputation.

Lawyer Aaron Mifsud Bonnici signed the writ.
