The second season of the Juventus Academy in Malta gets underway on September 12 at the Corradino Hockey Complex.
After a successful first year of operations, the academy is set to welcome more children next month for a high-quality training programme, designed by one of the foremost soccer schools in the world.
"The experience of our first year, the direct link to the Juventus Soccer School in Italy and the feedback from participants will all be fundamental to continue improving on our training and development programme," said Claudio Camilleri, Director of Kids in Motion, local representatives of the Juventus Academy.
"We took on a very arduous task last year and we achieved excellent results. Training will again be held at the hockey complex. It's a top class training facility which was approved by Juventus officials after they visited the academy last year."
Charles Borg is head coach again. He is fully-qualified, having completed intense courses and assignments in Italy.
"The main theme of the programme is fun while playing football," Borg said. "It is our philosophy to ensure that all players, regardless of talent, are given the opportunity to learn how to enjoy the game."
As happened last year, a select age group will travel to Turin to participate in the Academy Cup. In last year's edition, the Maltese team finished third. They had the opportunity to visit the Delle Alpi stadium and walk around the track before a Juventus Serie A match.
Juventus Academy in Malta officials will be meeting interested parents at the Juventus Club Vero Amore today at 7.30 p.m. During the meeting, a presentation of the 2005/06 training programme will be outlined.
