I refer to the letter Immigrants Are Not 'Illegal' by Lenie Reedijk (August 5).

Mr Reedijk tried to ridicule us by asking a question and then answer it with a sarcastic reply.

He asked: Why should a country with a population-politics like this not be able to take a couple of thousand coloured and black people along with all these Maltese? And then he replied: "If your country is too densely populated already, as your politicians claim, the Maltese should start doing something about this among themselves first, before they childishly start complaining about this, that, or the other in Brussels". In other words, is Mr Reedijk suggesting that we introduce abortion, euthanasia, killing people with special needs, the old and eradicate from our minds the notion of procreation so that we will have plenty of room for all the poor, homeless, destitute Africans who are on their way here to find a better financial future?

No, we are not going to make this country a place where the only solution for a futile existence is suicide!
