Celtic survived a first-half scare to beat Falkirk 3-1 at home and move top of the Scottish Premier League.

Promoted Falkirk snatched the lead with a Darryl Duffy penalty in the 39th minute after he had been brought down by defender Mo Camara.

Celtic hit back with second-half goals from John Hartson and a superb double from Alan Thompson to seal the points.

Gordon Strachan's side are now top with seven points from three games with arch-rivals Rangers facing Aberdeen at Pittodrie today.

Rangers and Hearts, who are away to Dundee United today, are joint second on six points from two games.
