Arrival at bus stop at St Paul's Bay (C Mecca side) stop 8.45 a.m. Destination: Floriana.
9.05 First bus no. 45 drives by full, with people standing.
9.15 Second bus no. 45 goes by full, same as previous bus.
9.20 Third bus, the 145. Strange but true, the driver kept going only four people standing.
9.15-9.25 Fourth and fifth buses, both 652, pass by - one was full and the other empty. Both kept going on.
Sixth bus, a no. 48, obviously travelling to Bugibba- again full.
9.37 Seventh bus, a no. 652, goes by. My son and I thought of taking this bus, stopping at the Spinola bus terminus (of course paying 50c each), then take another bus to Floriana at 20c each, thus paying Lm1.40, when normally I would have paid 46c for both. We could only have got to Floriana at 11 a.m.
Had I flown from Malta to Sicily and back, my journey would have taken just over an hour (35 minutes each way) while travelling from St Paul's Bay to Floriana on Monday, July 25, took 2 hours, 15 minutes. This had already happened once more, on July 13.
It would be appreciated if buses were to be more frequent, with more available space for people travelling from St Paul's Bay.
Or are we, commuters, the forgotten people?
