Paintings by artist Paul Camilleri Cauchi have been executed inside the dome of the north-side door of the Cathedral in Victoria. With this work, the artist has completed the set of six paintings in the side domes.

The painting of this cupola depicts the erection of the Gozo diocese. There is Pope Pius IX offering the parishes of Gozo to Our Lady. The full size figures representing the village patron saints are holding a model of their respective church, painted in chronological order.

The style and colour of the paintings are harmonious with the dome's four supports - also painted by Camilleri Cauchi.
