Sick Falzon dropped from squad

Mosta FC midfielder Dyson Falzon yesterday lost his place in the Malta U-21 squad after he was declared unfit to play in Tuesday's friendly against Wales. Falzon, 19, missed the final preparations at Ta' Qali's training grounds as he was feeling unwell.

Mosta FC midfielder Dyson Falzon yesterday lost his place in the Malta U-21 squad after he was declared unfit to play in Tuesday's friendly against Wales.

Falzon, 19, missed the final preparations at Ta' Qali's training grounds as he was feeling unwell. His place in the squad was awarded to Andrew Scerri, a Sliema Wanderers player who is currently on loan at Division Two side Qormi.

Scerri joins coach Mark Miller's 18-man squad which will be travelling to Swansea this morning.

Three other players in Miller's provisional squad were also omitted from the group yesterday.

These are Hibernians duo Jonathan Caruana and Matthew Bartolo and Floriana goalkeeper David Farrugia.

Forwards: N. Baldacchino, T. Cilia (both Floriana), I. Zammit (Valletta).
