FARRUGIA. On August 12, at her residence, MARIA passed away suddenly aged 86. Her loss will be greatly mourned by her children and their spouses, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. - R.I.P.

Information Seminar

The Planning and Priorities Coordination Division within the Office of the Prime Minister plans to hold an information seminar on August 31 at Projects House, Floriana.

The aim of the meeting is to answer any queries with respect to the application process in view of the imminent launch of a call for individual project proposals.

The division is the designated Maltese Focal Point administering funds within the framework of the EEA Financial Mechanism and the Norwegian Financial Mechanism.

Application forms and guidance notes can be downloaded from the PPCD website www.ppcd.gov.mt.

Oxberry Office

Oxberry Limited, specialist in audiovisual control system programming for the super yacht sector, has opened a new office in Malta, in cooperation with Malta Super Yacht Services. Malta Super Yacht Services operate from a 140-metre long dock, owned by Malta Shipyard Ltd.

Time for Architecture

Architects and architecture students will be holding 19 days of activities with an architectural theme in an attempt to bring architecture closer to a wider audience.

The events, which include an exhibition of projects designed by architects and students including a series of fiction and non-fiction films with an architectural background, will be held to celebrate World Architecture Day on October 3.

Called Time for Architecture, the activities will be held in Valletta and Cottonera between September 28 and October 16.

Architects wishing to take part are to register by September 5. The event is being organised by the Chamber of Architects and Civil Engineers and the Society of Architecture and Civil Engineering Students under the patronage of the Tourism and Culture Minister.

Cheaper Cinema Tickets

A Lm1.20 discount on tickets is being offered to pairs who turn up at the Eden Century Cinemas in Fgura as from Monday.

Through this discount the price for each ticket will be Lm1.75.

Patrons will also be granted free parking and will be given a voucher entitling them to a free pizza for every one purchased at the Pizza Hut at the Galleria Complex.

Home For Cats

A terminally-ill person is seeking to home two cats and three kittens before being admitted to hospital in two weeks' time.

Unless the cats are homed, they would have to be put down because the patient does not wish them to suffer.

Thanksgiving Mass

Canon Joseph Micallef will say Thanksgiving Mass at the St Helen Basilica, in Birkirkara on Tuesday, the liturgical feast of St Roque, at 7 p.m. to mark the 50th anniversary of his priesthood.

A former teacher at St Aloysius College he is procurator of St Paul's church in the Birkirkara parish.

Keen to promote Japanese culture, Advantest (Europe) GmbH will again be the main sponsor of the Malta Samurai Association.

Advantest is an automatic test equipment supplier to the semiconductor industry and produces electronic and optoelectronic instruments and systems.

Boat Party

The friends of Michael Frendo are organising a boat party, The Journey, on August 26.

Deejays including Toby, Steve Caesar and Luc Adams will play the latest tunes.

The boat will leave The Strand, Sliema at 9 p.m. and will be back at about 2 a.m.

Literary Evening

Ghaqda Letterarja Maltija in collaboration with the Floriana local council will be holding a literary evening at Vilhena Gardens on August 27 at 7 p.m.

Song writers Vince Fabri and Walter Micallef will be in attendance. Entrance is free.

Prayer Meeting

The Patri Piju Qaddis prayer group of Guardamangia will be holding a prayer meeting and Mass for Maltese youths at Our Blessed Holy Mary of Loreto church, Guardamangia on September 13 at 6 p.m.
