The Helping Hands Foundation has teamed up with the Institute for World Evangelisation to help out with one of the projects that were initiated by Pope John Paul II for the Year Of Charity and the Great Jubilee 2000.
The mission is to build a hospital in Ghana, Africa. Construction work is already in hand but about Lm130,000 are still needed to complete it. The foundation urged the public to welcome the Helping Hands Foundation sales team and buy the booklets they are offering to raise funds.
The foundation has just donated Lm5,000 to the Association for Abandoned Animals. The money was raised through the sale of the third issue of its family magazine. AAA is run by Freddie Fenech who looks after 350 dogs at his santctuary in Luqa.
The money is meant to assist Mr Fenech build a clinic.
