Australia's Libby Lenton broke the women's 100 metres freestyle short-course world record for the second time in 24 hours yesterday.

Lenton clocked 51.70 in the final of the event at the Australian short-course swimming championships in Melbourne.

She had set the previous mark of 51.91 in the semi-finals on Monday, eclipsing the 52.17 Sweden's Therese Alshammar achieved in Athens in March 2000.
