Bank sponsors summer club programme

The Ministry of Education's Klabbsajf programme is being sponsored by the HSBC Cares For Children Fund for the fifth consecutive year.

The programme forms part of Skolasajf.

HSBC's southern area director Francis Gouder presented the sponsorship money to the Education Division's director, Mary Rose Mifsud, during a visit to the Klabbsajf activities taking place in Zurrieq.

The Skolasajf programme is aimed at primary school children in years 4, 5 and 6 and complements what the children learn during the scholastic year. Activities are being held at several schools throughout Malta and Gozo, from Monday to Friday between 9 a.m. and noon.

Mr Gouder said: "Klabbsajf has helped many children to improve their vocabulary and reading skills through informal storytelling and plays.

"The HSBC Cares For Children Fund has worked tirelessly over the years to provide educational opportunities to those children who need them most and will therefore continue to give its support to Klabbsajf."
