The illegal immigration crisis is getting out of hand for the Maltese authorities.
The EU prescribes certain rules which the Maltese authorities should follow vis-à-vis illegal immigrants but the EU does not assume responsibility for their upkeep.
It is a fact that the illegal immigrants' intention is to live and work in the big countries of the EU. They do not intend to settle in Malta.
We are duty-bound to help them. The best help we can give them is to help them reach their intended destination, i.e., the big countries of the EU.
Therefore, without imploring the EU any further, we should deal with this crisis ourselves in the most effective way and in the best way for the illegal immigrants themselves.
The Maltese authorities should organise the immediate and safe transport of the illegal immigrants to their intended destination, that is, the big countries of the EU.
In this way we would be rendering the utmost help to the illegal immigrants and, at the same time, we would be avoiding the manifold problems which are being caused to the Maltese authorities and people.
