Cornelia Kausch, until recently general manager of the five-star Corinthia Grand Hotel Royal in Budapest, Hungary, has been appointed chairman of IHI Hungary Rt., the hotel's owning company.

IHI Hungary Rt. is in turn a wholly owned subsidiary of International Hotel Investments plc (IHI), a public entity in which leading Maltese hotel company Corinthia Group holds a majority interest.

IHI was incorporated within the Corinthia Group to develop and invest in upscale hotels in various countries in Europe and the Mediterranean region. The company was subsequently floated on the Malta Stock Exchange in April 2000.

Ms Kausch was selected for this prestigious position by Corinthia Group chairman Alfred Pisani.
