The Maltasong Board, within the Malta Council for Culture and the Arts, has called on prospective applicants for the Junior Eurovision Festival 2005 to observe the contest's conditions and regulations, particularly regulation no. 4 (viii).

The regulation stipulates that the application must be accompanied by a signed declaration from the composer's or author's parents or guardians stating that their song is original and has never been commercially released, published or performed in public.

The declaration must also state that the entry has been written and composed by the child artist. The Maltasong Board has warned prospective applicants that infringement of this rule will result in disqualification from the festival or any other event it organises till the end of December 2006.

Defaulters will also be held responsible for any damages incurred.

The closing date for submissions for the Junior Eurovision has been extended to noon of Tuesday, August 16. For more information call the Malta Council for Culture and the Arts on tel: 2124-5168 or e-mail: antonmiceli@maltaculture.com .
