It is with pleasure that one notes that a number of roads are being rebuilt by the central government. Unfortunately it seems that most of these roads are main arterial roads and no or little importance is being given to residential roads.
A case in point is Triq tal-Qattus and its whereabouts in the limits of Birkirkara. Most of the residents have been living here for a number of years now and the undone roads are a continuous peril for them. Walking through the roads is impossible unless you are ready to pass through two inches of dust and risk an injured leg.
To add insult to injury, the already chaotic situation becomes worse during this time of the year. Residents have been complaining of health problems because of the dust that accumulates in their homes, even though windows are left shut.
I urge the government to take these road into consideration in the very near future - and I urge it not to reply to the letter with the usual "we have invested millions in roads". We don't care. All we care about is that our road is done.
