Rotary District Governor visits Dar il-Kaptan

Rotary District Governor for Sicily and Malta 2005/2006 Arcangelo Lacagnina and his wife, Silvana, accompanied by a delegation from district went to see Dar il-Kaptan, Rotary Drive, Mtarfa, a Respite Home for the handicapped which is being financially assisted by Rotary Club Malta.

Dar il-Kaptan caters for the needs of over 300 families wishing to use the Respite's facilities. The home has just had a new extension, which was completed last month.

Also the home was fully air-conditioned and also provided with a brand new Mercedes van. All these projects were financed through fundraising by Rotary Club Malta.

During his visit, Governor Lacagnina presented the home with a financial contribution from District, plus his own substantial personal contribution.

Governor Lacagnina was very impressed with the home and the work being done by all the workers. The cheque was presented to the administrator of the home, Harry Fenech, who is also the Rotary Club Malta's president for the year 2005/2006.

The District Governor for Sicily and Malta for the year 2006/ 2007 will be a Maltese member of Rotary Club Malta, Alfred Mangion.
