¤ The feast of St Lawrence is being celebrated in San Lawrenz today.

Bishop Nikol Cauchi will lead a Pontifical Concelebrated Mass at 9 a.m., after which he will deliver the panegyric.

At 11 the Mnarja Band will play marches in the village streets.

The procession with the statue of the saint, accompanied by the Victory Band, leaves the church at 8 p.m., during which the La Stella Band will be giving a musical programme on the church square.

The procession ends at 10.15 with the antiphon, sacramental blessing and adoration of the relic of St Lawrence.

At 10.30, the Precursor Band will play marches from St Lawrence Street to the church square.

¤ Nadur council, in collaboration with the Nadur Football Club, is holding a Summerfest, with activities for all the family at Dahlet Qorrot Bay, today from 8 a.m. onwards.

¤ The feast of St Joseph is being celebrated in Qala this week.

As part of the activities, the parish church is dedicating today to the family. At 10 a.m., Zejtun archpriest Fr Eric Overend will say Mass for couples celebrating their wedding anniversary.

Tomorrow at 8.30 p.m., a show featuring local and foreign talent will be held in the primary school hall.

On Tuesday at 8.30 p.m., a high tea is being organised on the church square. Tickets may be obtained from the St Joseph Feast Fireworks Committee.

On Wednesday at 9 p.m., the Ite Ad Joseph Band, directed by Mro Refalo, will perform on the parish square.

On Thursday at 9 p.m., the Ite ad Joseph and St Margaret bands will play marches in the main streets of the village.

On Friday at 9.30 p.m., the Ite ad Joseph and Precursor bands will play marches in the streets. The St Joseph Band will also perform on the parish square, where there will be a ground fireworks display at midnight.

On Saturday at 7 p.m., the translation of the relic of St Joseph will be led by Bishop Sylvester C. Magro, OFM from the Franciscan Sisters chapel to the parish church.

The La Stella and Queen Victoria bands will play marches at 9.30, and Victory Band will perform on the main square.

A ground fireworks display will be held on the main square at midnight.

¤ As part of the 25th anniversary celebrations of the incoronation of its titular painting, Zebbug parish has invited the Gaulitanus Choir, who this year is also celebrating its 15th anniversary, to give a concert of Marian hymns on Tuesday at 7.30 p.m.

The concert will feature well known classics and other less known works, besides a revival of local works, including several arrangements by the choir's director, Mro Colin Attard.

Participants include the choir's main soloist, soprano Rita Dimech, tenor Joseph Calleja, bass Darren Vella, mezzo-soprano Miriam Curmi, and tenor Joseph Buttigieg.

The choir, under the artistic direction of Mro Attard, will be accompanied by its pianist, Stephen Attard, and will also be joined in some numbers by young violinist Jean Noël Attard.

¤ A high tea is being held to raise funds for Fr Adeodato Schembri, OSA's mission in Brazil on Wednesday at 7.30 p.m. at the Augustinian convent in Victoria. For tickets, at Lm1.25 each, phone 2155-1053 or 2155-1273.

¤ The Victoria Scout Group is holding a barbeque and campfire on Wednesday at 8 p.m. at the Scout camp in Dwejra Bay. Tickets may be obtained from the Scouts' HQ, Briffa New Store, Bookpoint and Josie's Supermarket till tomorrow.

¤ The traditional St Mary dinner is being organised by the Leone Band Club on Sunday at 8 p.m. on Cathedral Square, Victoria. Tickets at Lm6 for adults and Lm2.50 for children may be obtained from Grace Debono (tel. 2155-1460) or Coney Island Bar (2155-1289).

¤ A guided walk and art-with-a-purpose is being held on August 13 at 6 p.m. at Ta' Cenc. Experts on various disciplines will lead the tour while artists will be able to use their talents, enhancing public awareness on the loss of the countryside.
