MCAST lecturer in Spain on in-service training course

Pierre Vella, lecturer at MCAST's Institute of Mechanical Engineering has recently participated in an in-service training course held in Valladolid, Spain, earlier this month.

Mr Vella was awarded the grant through the EU programme Socrates Comenius 2.2C. The aim of this action is to encourage participants to improve their knowledge and skills, to gain a broader understanding of school education in Europe, and to gain an understanding of the European dimension to their work.

The course titled "Teaching and learning with Webquest" was aimed at giving a different dimension to classroom teaching. One new emerging method is Webquest where ICT, collaborative learning and higher thinking skills can be adopted.

The training course was addressed by Mr Bernie Dodge of the San Diego State University. Countries represented during the training course were Finland, Poland, Bulgaria, Hungary, Turkey, Greece, Cyprus, Italy and Austria.
