The Lotteries and Gaming Authority yesterday said that under the Remote Gaming Regulations LN 176 of 2004, the authority does not impede Maltese citizens from playing remote gaming.

It issued a statement in reaction to an article that appeared in yesterday's The Times entitled Remote Gaming Firms Betting On Malta.

The chairman of the Malta Remote Gaming Council, George Debrincat, told the reporter that one of the conditions of licence of the remote gaming companies is that Maltese people are not allowed to play.
