A 24-year-old woman was yesterday conditionally discharged for a year when she admitted to stealing a debit card and spending Lm242 on it.

Magistrate Miriam Hayman heard Joanne Cardona, of Hamrun, plead guilty to stealing Maria Dolores Cordina's Bank of Valletta Cashlink card and making use of it on March 8 and 9.

She also pleaded guilty to defrauding Ms Cordina of the money and to forgery.

Lawyer Joseph Giglio appeared for Ms Cardona.
