Christine Rene SimonCIC of Ghajnsielem is holding an exhibition entitled 'Moments' at the Gozo Heritage till Saturday. Opening hours are from 8.30 a.m. to 4.45 p.m.

Christine was born in New York in 1984 and settled in Gozo at the age of five in 1989.

She received her first years of education at Ghajnsielem Primary School and chose Art and Technical Design at Junior Lyceum.

She furthered her artistic studies at the then Salvatore School for Arts and Crafts, Targa Gap, Mosta (now known as the MCAST College of Art and Design), where she had Art and Graphic Design as her main subjects. She also attended lessons at the School of Arts under Martin Attard and Mario Cassar.

She took art lessons with Anthony Calleja, graphic design and history of art with Conrad Fenech, graphic design with Anthony Mamo, photo-graphy with Stephen Vella, and printing with Joe M. Muscat.

In 2003, Christine started work as a full-time graphic designer at the Gozo Press, Ghajnsielem. In January 2004, she graduated in Graphic Design and also received her Journeyman Certificate in the subject.

Her exhibition consists of eight compositions that capture the artist's precious moments of life in rich and vibrant colours: Passion, Fury, Isolation, Betrayal, Broken, Serenity, Fear and Bliss. Chrisitine uses her painting to express her feelings and to better understand life's experiences - both the good and bad moments.
