Peace Cup: Tottenham Hotspur drew 1-1 with Real Sociedad yesterday to set up a clash with French champions Olympique Lyon in the final of the Peace Cup pre-season tournament. English Premier League club Tottenham finished level on points at the top of group B but scored more goals in the group matches than second-placed Boca Juniors of Argentina, who beat Mamelodi Sundowns of South Africa 3-1. Lyon topped group A, which also included Dutch champions PSV, Once Caldas of Colombia and domestic K-League side Seongnam Ilhwa. Sunday's final will be played in the Seoul World Cup Stadium, with $2 million awarded to the winner.
Hofmann: Rapid Vienna's German captain, Steffen Hofmann, announced yesterday that he was turning his back on his native country to take Austrian citizenship and play for his adopted country.
