Maltese football was at the centre of attention on Saturday evening as the diverse winners of the Malta Football Awards were announced during a glitzy ceremony at the Westin Dragonara Resort.
Andrew Cohen, the Hibernians striker, received two of the most coveted prizes in these annual awards after being named Best Striker and Best Maltese Player.
The winners of the other awards were: Brian Said (Sliema Wanderers) Best Defender; Mario Muscat (Hibernians) Best Goalkeeper; Edward Aquilina (Sliema Wanderers) Best Coach; Essien Mbong (Hibernians) Best Midfielder and Best Foreign Player; Alex Muscat (Sliema Wanderers) Most Promising Youngster; Brian Meilaq (Ghajnsielem) Best Player in Gozo; Dorianne Theuma (Hibs) and Rebecca D'Agostino (Birkirkara) Best Female Player; Neboisa Mijolovic (Hibs) Best Futsal Player; Silvan Ciscaldi (Pietà Hotspurs) Best Goal of the Season.
