EU Budget talks
The Parliamentary Secretary in the Ministry of Finance, Tonio Fenech, is in Brussels for the Council of Economic and Finance Ministers (Ecofin) meeting that will focus on budgetary issues.
The finance ministers will seek agreement on the proposed shift from agricultural direct payments to funds for rural development, the government said.
It said Malta stands to gain from such a shift as any increase in funds for rural development will translate into more benefits for the Maltese farming community.
