Alexander J. Tranter has been elected vice-chairman of the International Association for Homes and Services for the Aged (IAHSA) based in Washington DC, USA.

IAHSA is an international, not-for-profit organisation with members from over 30 countries who include leaders in long-term care, senior housing, business and government as well as professionals interested in the international arena of aging services.

Mr Tranter is the chief executive officer of the CareMalta Group, operators of homes for the elderly.
