Alternattiva Demokratika has highlighted the accelerating rate of environmental destruc-tion in areas of natural landscape value.

Environment spokesman Mark Causon said illegal dumping has increasingly paved the way for degradation and subsequent development of formerly unspoilt areas.

He complained that garigue is being spoilt under the guise of land reclamation.
