There have been quite a few letters recently regarding the fares of BritishJet. Like most budget airlines they advertise their lowest fares. This is normal practice. They only have to have one fare at that price to comply with advertising standards. I have just paid £92 return including tax from Leeds to Malta.

If I had booked two weeks earlier, the price would have been £110.

My advice when using any budget airline is to check prices daily, especially if you have use of the internet as the prices vary greatly from day to day according to how many seats are available for the day of travel.

I have now flown three times with BritishJet from Leeds and the most I have paid is £120 which was cheaper than the other flight from Leeds.

It is a shame that the flights from Malta to the UK are more expensive but that is due to the Maltese government's extra departure tax on Maltese citizens.

Why not lobby MPs to get this changed?
