St Anne's chapel in the historic fort of St Angelo is proving to be a magnificent setting for an art auction consisting of 35 exhibits from 17 local and foreign artists.

The event is being organised by the Friends of St Luke's Hospital Foundation and Lions Club La Valletta.

Last Saturday, the fort was open to the public and attracted a good number of locals and foreigners who inspected the exhibits and enjoyed the splendid views from the fort's ramparts.

The topmost part of the fort, which was the Grandmaster's private quarters before the Order moved to Valletta, is currently leased to the Sovereign Military Order of St John which has lent the premises for this event.

For those who missed the first public viewing another event will be held on Saturday at 8 p.m. where a night of food, music and art will bring the event to a fitting close.

For ticket reservations phone 7943 2468, 9924 9889, 7982 8282.
