I would like to refer to the letter by Patricia Salamone (June 24). The lady is right and the onus is on the authorities to make a decision.

A few weeks ago The Times carried a write-up in which the Malta Transport Authority (ADT) suggested to the Police Commissioner that this vendor is a hazard to his customers. I don't know why ADT are suggesting this to the commissioner, because they are the authority which implements traffic management and not the commissioner.

ADT should first check that the ice cream vendor does not occupy places reserved for cabs. Signs reserving this place for karozzini are still there. Secondly, if this is a hazard, the ADT should put up a sign that no one should park there, not even the ice cream vendor.

The Deputy Prime Minister, in a parliamentary answer to Leo Brincat, said this vendor is there legally and there is no hazard to customers.

I have an e-mail from the PRO of ADT in which the lady said that after viewing the plans approved by Mepa there are no places reserved for ice cream vendor.

Can somebody decide, before it is too late?
