Chelsea striker Mateja Kezman has arrived in Madrid for talks about a move to Atletico Madrid, the Primera Liga club said yesterday.
"Atletico and Chelsea have been negotiating the finer details of a move in recent days and an agreement could be reached in the next few hours," Atletico said in a statement on their website.
The 26-year-old Serbia and Montenegro striker has struggled to find a regular first-team spot at Chelsea, after moving from PSV Eindhoven for five million pounds last July.
He only managed four goals for the English champions last season but netted 105 goals in 123 games, in his four years at PSV.
Kezman is set to be Atletico's second close season signing for Argentine coach Carlos Bianchi, who was brought in to replace the sacked Cesar Ferrando earlier this month.
Atletico, who finished 11th in La Liga, are hoping to pair Kezman with 21-year-old Spain striker Fernando Torres.
