A 45-year-old man was yesterday charged with threatening to kill a man, whom he suspected was having an affair with his wife, and trying to extort money out of him.

The man, whose name cannot be published by court order, pleaded not guilty to trying to extort money out of the other, using telecommunication equipment to threaten him and threatening to kill him on and before Monday.

Police Inspector Kevin Farrugia prosecuted.
