The Air Malta Boeing 737 that was slightly damaged when a passenger jetty hit its door at Moscow's Domodedovo airport early on Sunday morning is already in Malta and operational, an airline spokesman said.

The passengers on the Air Malta flight KM561, which was cancelled due to the incident, returned yesterday morning on a replacement aircraft, he said. They were put up in hotel close to the airport on Sunday.

Engineers left for Moscow immediately after the incident occurred, assessed the damage and repaired the aircraft, which arrived in Malta before the replacement plane.
