Faculty of Education Website

The Faculty of Education is committed to providing the education community and the public with information regarding its academic programmes and its research activities. The Website responds to this commitment as well as to the Faculty's vision of enhancing the digital element of the teaching-learning process.

With the increasing internationalisation of the Faculty, the Website is partially intended to serve as a virtual information office for prospective international students and for international academics interested in engaging in joint research projects or in participating in exchanges with the Faculty's academic staff.

For students, the Website constitutes another opportunity to interact with tutors outside office hours. Students will avail themselves of Faculty and departmental news through this site. A number of tutors will also provide students with digital access to course programmes and to lecture notes.

The Website (www.educ.um.eu.mt) is linked to the Faculty's electronic journal. The Journal of Maltese Education Research provides established and emerging scholars and practitioners with a space for critical and empirical analysis of issues central to Maltese education policy, curriculum reform and pedagogy.

Administratively, the Website is intended to facilitate communication and to improve on general administrative efficiency. Documents related to students' life within the Faculty will eventually be downloaded from the site. The same applies to documents related to academics' work within University. Virtual notice boards will provide daily news as well as information that ranges from time-tables to room allocations.

Ecologically, the Website is intended to cut on paper wastage. This goal forms part of the better environment project initiated by the present deanship.

While the Faculty is committed to providing the most accurate information via the Web, it is strongly recommended that prospective students consult faculty office and departmental secretaries prior to any major study-related decision.
