The Italo-Maltese cultural agreement provides for ten bursaries per year for Italian university academic staff or researchers who will be invited to visit the University to deliver lectures, address seminars, conduct research and discuss academic co-operation. Each bursary comprises a per diem allowance of Lm35 for visits of up to ten days. Travel costs to Malta are refunded to the Italian academics by the Italian authorities or are to be met by the bursary holder.

Applications are invited from members of the academic staff who wish to invite Italian counterparts to visit Malta for such purposes. The visits may take place during September-December except academic vacation periods. Applications are to reach Joe Grech, Assistant Director, International Office, by e-mail joe.grech@um.edu.mt or by internal mail at the International Office by July 29.
